Paint correction or ceramic coating?
The difference between refining paint and protecting it.
Paint correction and ceramic coating do different jobs. Correction refines the existing finish; coating adds a protective treatment after preparation. Depending on the condition of your paint, you may need one or a combination of both.
Start with what you can see.
Look at the car in good light. If the finish appears hazy or covered in light swirl marks, ask about paint correction. If you are happy with the appearance and want to discuss protection and easier ongoing cleaning, ask about ceramic coating.
| Your aim | What to discuss |
|---|---|
| Improve swirls, haze and dull reflections | Paint correction or enhancement |
| Add protection to prepared paint | Ceramic coating |
| Refine the finish and protect it | A combined detailing package |
Preparation matters.
A coating does not perform the same work as polishing. Discuss visible defects before choosing protection, so the plan addresses the appearance you want as well as the care afterwards.
Correction also has limits. Deeper damage and areas with previous repairs need assessment. It is better to agree a realistic result for the car than to choose a package based only on its name.
What should you send us?
Start with the make, model and age of the vehicle. Tell us what bothers you about the paint and mention any known repairs. Photos of the whole car and close-ups of the affected areas can help start the conversation.
